Civility and business mix well at this rooftop garden near Grand Central Station where an after work crowd prefers a glass of Pinot Grigio more than a Cosmo.

CRUMBALICIOUS: Cupcake Kings
If you still enjoy licking icing off of your fingers like a child as much as I do…try flavors such as red velvet, key lime, and Reese’s peanut butter for a change. Crumbs Cupcakes is what Sprinkles is in Los Angeles- a haven for those desiring a decorative sugar rush seated atop moist cake. My favorite is the apple caramel, with chunks of real apple and a caramel coating oh so sweet and rich.
SABOR COMIDA: Sofrito
400 E 57th St. at 1st Ave. (212) 486-2255
Sofrito is a combination of ingredients that give Puerto Rican food its distinctive, delicious flavor. Sofrito, a popular restaurant on the eastside, brings these distinctive flavors to every dish. The menu includes authentic classics like pernil, a portion large enough to feed three people and arroz con gandules. Still not sure? I’ve found one thing on the expansive menu that never disappoints-- the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. Garlic lovers will devour this tender cut for both its tanginess and distinct flavor. The pineapple mojitos are fresh and delicious, and live music and salsa dancing permeates the dining and lounge area on weekends. With prices much lower than most midtown digs, Sofrito is a must.
SUMMER REFRESHMENT: Hint Drinks

Many people are not familiar with the Mati Klarwein, but he is an artist worth learning more about. He created some of the most famous album covers for Miles Davis, Santana, Yusef Lateef, and others. His style was psychedelic with non-fluid movement aiming towards transcendence. His work is currently being shown in the Whitney Museum’s Summer Of Love Exhibit.
